OAU Student Union Launches Mental Health Awareness Campaign

The Student Union at Obafemi Awolowo University has launched a comprehensive Mental Health Awareness Campaign to address the rising concerns around student well-being. Kicking off on June 30th, the week-long campaign includes workshops, seminars, and open forums aimed at educating students about mental health issues, reducing stigma, and providing practical strategies for managing stress and anxiety.

The campaign features guest speakers from the fields of psychology and counseling, as well as interactive sessions led by mental health professionals. Additionally, there are peer support groups and mindfulness activities such as yoga and meditation sessions. The Student Union has also set up booths around campus where students can access resources, seek immediate help, and learn about the counseling services available at OAU.

The initiative reflects the Student Union’s commitment to fostering a supportive and healthy campus environment. Union President, Ifeoluwa Adetunji, emphasized the importance of mental health in academic success and personal development, encouraging students to participate actively and seek support when needed.
